Aluminum Splice Lock and Mounting Flange permit non weld assembly of BikeRails™

Note: The two-piece Splice-Lock is spot glued together to simplify installation. If for any reason the Splice-Lock is loosened, do this while the BikeRailTM body is laying on a flat, level surface. Leave the Splice-Lock snug so you do not lose the free half of the Splice-Lock in the BikeRail™ Body. Do not remove the 1/4" Set Screw Allen Wrench from the Splice- Lock until the Splice-Lock is completely tightened.

1. 3 or 5 Loop BikeRail™
   1. Lay the BikeRail™ loops flat and assemble the loops with Splice-Locks prior to assembling the bases.
   2. Insert a Splice-Lock into the BikeRail™ Body inner loop and align the set screw hole in the Splice-Lock with the pre-drilled hole in the BikeRail body.
   3. Apply a drop of thread lock adhesive – if desired – to the threads of one 1/4" Splice- Lock Set Screw and insert through the BikeRail Body and into the Splice-Lock. Tighten securely. If you hear a snap while tightening the 1/4" Splice-Lock Set Screw, it is the glue between the two Splice-Lock components releasing, allowing the Splice-Lock to expand and tighten.
   4. With 5-Loop BikeRail™, repeat for other Splice-Lock. If the 3-Loop or 5-Loop BikeRail™ is to be installed at a particular angle, it is important to set the angle while the BikeRail™ Body is laying on a flat surface.
2. BikeRail™ Surface Mount
   1. Apply a drop of thread lock adhesive, if desired, to the threads of one 5/16" Base Set Screw, and fasten the Splice-Lock to a Mounting Base. Tighten securely.
   2. Repeat for other Base.
   3. Insert the Mounting Base and Splice-Lock assembly into the BikeRail™ End Section.
   4. Align the Splice-Lock Set Screw hole with the pre-drilled hole in the BikeRail End Section Body. Make sure the Splice-Lock Set Screw hole is centered in the BikeRail™ End Piece Section hole.
   5. Apply a drop of thread lock, if desired, to the threads of one 1/4" Splice-Lock Set Screw, and insert through the BikeRail™ body and into the Splice-Lock.
   6. Tighten securely. If you hear a snap while tightening, it is the glue between the two Splice-Lock components releasing, allowing the Splice-Lock to expand and tighten. Repeat Step 6 with the second Mounting Base and Splice-Lock assembly in the second BikeRail™ End Section.
   7. Set the BikeRail™ upright and position it to the appropriate installation location. Fasten properly to the substrate using Drive-In Spike Fasteners provided. Follow instructions supplied with fasteners for installation.
3. BikeRail™ Embedded Mount
   1. BikeRail™ Embedded Mount units are provided with 6" extensions in the end sections for setting into concrete or grout. In installations subject to ground freeze concerns, extensions are available to reach below your area’s frostline.
   2. Once you have the correct bike rack height determined, position the ends and begin to plumb and level as needed. Fill the hole with Rockite or Kwixset Anchor Cement per package instructions.
   3. Insert zinc plugs through the BikeRail™ Body’s pre-drilled holes and into the Splice-Lock Set Screw hole. Tap into place with a rubber mallet
