Wagner Announces Acquisition of Midwest Iron
R&B Wagner, Inc. (doing business as Wagner) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Midwest Stairs and Iron, Inc. (doing business as Midwest Iron), a company renowned for its expertise in pre-fabricated, bolt-on aluminum balconies, steel stairs and miscellaneous metals. This acquisition is a strategic move to enhance Wagner’s manufacturing capabilities and drive further growth opportunities.
Founded in 2006 by former President and owner Howard Wurgler, Midwest Iron has built a strong reputation over the past years. The company specializes in providing engineered solutions for modern commercial development. Midwest Iron is nationally recognized and exclusively sources its materials in the United States, ensuring high-quality standards by cutting, assembling and welding all products by hand.
“Midwest Iron has a great reputation nationally for its miscellaneous metals fabrication with a strong presence in the Wisconsin marketplace, as well as its innovative aluminum balcony systems that are the best in the industry nationwide,” said Wagner’s President and CEO, Michael Dover. “As a 100% employee-owned company, Wagner welcomes the new Shareholders joining our firm from Midwest Iron and looks forward to the synergies a combined company will bring.”
Midwest Iron serves architects, general contractors and property owners with a focus on time efficiency, safety and precise fit. Each product is pre-fabricated, pre-assembled and pre-engineered to ensure seamless installation and superior quality. Midwest Iron has a strong portfolio of meeting the demands of modern commercial development. Dover highlighted, “The combined product lines from a 100% employee-owned manufacturing company allow our customers to know they are getting seamless systems integrated into their buildings or landscapes from a company filled with passionate owners with a vested interest in our long-term success.”
Bob Wagner, Executive Chair of Wagner’s Board of Directors, added, “This is a proud moment in Wagner's history to add Midwest Iron’s catalog of products and capabilities. The Wagner name has been connected to metalworking in Milwaukee since 1850. Many facilities contain Wagner products. The addition of Midwest Iron’s specialties enhances our product portfolio for fabricators, contractors, building owners and architectural designers.”
Wurgler articulated his vision for Midwest Iron, emphasizing the company’s commitment to guiding people toward a positive future, ensuring a safe working environment and continuously improving products to meet clients’ needs. In alignment with this vision, Dover stated, “I, along with former Midwest Iron owner Howard Wurgler, see a bright future for a combined company within a 100% employee-owned structure to continue offering products of the highest quality to our customers. One of the key points of the acquisition is honoring our joint investment in our employee-owners here in Milwaukee for the fabrication of architectural metal products.”
This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone for Wagner, positioning the company to better serve its customers and expand its presence in the industry. By combining the expertise and capabilities of both companies, Wagner is poised to deliver even more innovative and high-quality products. The unified company will continue to uphold its commitment to excellence, employee ownership and customer satisfaction. Wagner looks forward to the path ahead and the continued success of its expanded team.
